There was no feuding at The Massry Residence. We just feel like family.
The Massry Residence provides a wide variety of activities for the residents every day. Family Feud was a popular tv game show in the 80s and 90s. We had to really think what the answers would have been back in the day so that we could score the most points for our team. Some we got, and some we didn’t.

In the Daughters of Sarah Senior Community spotlight for Gemilut Chasadim, which means “Acts of Loving Kindness” is Spencer Swartzendruber. Spencer has worked for Daughters of Sarah Senior Community for a total of 16 years, and enjoys his job every day. “I first starting working here doing maintenance with Mike Regan, and really liked having him as my boss. I left for a few years and decided to return. I missed the positive atmosphere that makes Daughters of Sarah such a good place to work, so I came back,” Spencer shared. As a driver for The Massry Residence, Spencer spends every day with the residents providing rides to doctor appointments, hair and nail appointments, to the drug and grocery store, or wherever they need to go. He prepares reminder slips and medical records for the next day’s appointments, and loves to hear about the residents’ life experiences, their stories, and their jokes. But most of all, Spencer welcomes their advice, and cares deeply for each of them. He is kind, patient, and goes out of his way every day for everybody. Did you know that Spencer was a portrait photographer and loves the game of baseball? His dream is to visit every Major League Baseball park in the country and to watch a game played in each field. Spencer cheers for the Boston Red Sox.

Thank you, Spencer for your continuous smile and for the Acts of Loving Kindness you do every day for our community!

In the Daughters of Sarah Senior Community spotlight for Gemilut Chasadim, which means “Acts of Loving Kindness” is Sue LaMalfa. Sue has worked at Daughters of Sarah for three years as the Human Resources Assistant, and she loves it! Sue has worked for various care-providing non-profits throughout her career, and feels that whatever her position is, it is important that she make a difference in someone’s life. Sue cares deeply for others. “I try to be good, nice, fair and consistent with everyone, no matter who they are or their position; no one should be treated differently than anyone else,” Sue shared. The best part of her day is meeting new employees and helping them with their onboarding process. No two days are alike for Sue, which helps keep her on her toes and ready for whatever needs to be done. She has a BA in Psychology, and a MA in Organization Management. Bet you’ll be surprised to know that when Sue is not at work, she is a DIYer (Do It Yourselfer). She loves a good power tool!

Thank you, Sue, for the Acts of Loving Kindness you do every day for our community!
