Synchronized Skating Open House & Tryouts

The Albany Figure Skating Club’s medal-winning Achilles Edge Synchronized Skating Team will hold an Open House and Synchro Team Tryout on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at the Clifton Park Ice Arena (16 Clifton Common Blvd., Clifton Park). All interested figure skaters are welcome to join the team for pizza and on-ice synchronized skating skills and drills. The event is free to participants, and skaters of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Synchronized skating is a team sport in which 8-20 skaters perform a complex maneuvers together as a group. According to United States Figure Skating, it is the fastest-growing figure skating discipline in the U.S. Synchro is great training for all figure skaters – it helps with speed, turns, coordination, stamina, and edges.
