Lecture—Michael Cassin, “Rembrandt and the Dutch Golden Age”

Michael Cassin, Director of the Center for Education in the Visual Arts at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, will give a discussion on Dutch painter and etcher Rembrandt van Rijn. As the most famous artist of the so-called “Golden Age” of Dutch Art, Rembrandt and his work reflect the prosperity and the confidence of the 17th Century in the Netherlands. His portraits, narrative paintings, and his incomparable prints celebrate Dutch society, Dutch wealth, and Dutch culture in all its splendor and variety. FREE with museum admission.
