Albany Children's Book Festival

Fifth annual festival to host more than 50 children’s authors and illustrators

The fifth annual Albany Children’s Book Festival will welcome more than 50 children’s authors and illustrators on Saturday, April 27, 2013.

The Festival is a community event free and open to the public. Hosted by The Albany Academies, it will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00pm at 140 Academy Road in Albany.

The Albany Children’s Book Festival is one of the premier literary events in the Capital Region. Its mission is to nurture literacy in school–aged children and its vision is to help provide children, in every community, access to books to explore, learn from, and to stimulate their imaginations.

This year’s Festival will feature many children's activities – including a storybook parade that kicks off the festival -- presentations and workshops for educators, teachers and librarians. There will also be a special award presented to renowned author Jerry Pinkney at a breakfast program open to the public and an award presented to Tommy Greenwald at a luncheon.
