Channel Z Productions presents “The Pillowman” by Martin McDonagh at Caffe Lena's Black Box Theater. With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka and the Brothers Grimm “The Pillowman” is an unlikely dark comedy about a hapless writer living in a police state who is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a number of bizarre child murders occurring in his town. Written by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh, best known for the Colin Ferrell films “Seven Psychopaths” and “In Bruges”, this black comedy uses varying styles of narrative to infuse fact with falsehood as each character weaves his own version of the truth they are trying to uncover. What it is about, above all, is storytelling and the thrilling, frightening narrative potential of art itself.**This production contains strong language, mature content and scenes of violence.
