Babette’s Feast is the tale of two pious sisters whose life experiences are defined solely by their religious beliefs as members of a Danish Christian sect. The influence of their housekeeper, Babette, a refugee from revolutionary Paris, begins to change the way the sisters perceive their world and their faith.

The film beautifully contrasts two much different ways of interpreting Christian life: one which sees religious life as primarily a matter of moral living, disdaining sensual engagement in the created world. The other acknowledges the "sacramental" textures and depths of the created world and discovers in it the divine

Admission is free.

The film will be followed by light refreshments and a lively discussion on the themes of redemption and the Eucharist as presented in the film, The conversation with be moderated by Fr. John D. Kirwin (ret.).
