This program is designed to help caregivers who are dealing with anticipatory grief, or the on-going loss of a loved one, before they pass away. Unlike other terminal illnesses, Alzheimer's and dementia often take away the person we love in stages, and this will create many different feelings and emotions. We will discuss ways to deal with these feelings, validation of these emotions, how to help yourself during this difficult time, and the value of palliative and comfort care programs, such as Hospice. There will also be a brief support meeting for anyone to willing to discuss and express their concerns, share experiences, and be a source of support for each other.

To register, please contact Tonya Garmley at the Alzheimer's Association at (518) 867-4999 x. 200 or email at infoneny@alz.org.
