4-H Wasp Watchers

  • Ongoing: until Sunday, September 30, 2012
  • Thursday: 7:00pm
  • Where: Cornell Cooperative Extension 24 Martin Rd. Voorheesville, NO
  • Cost: Free
  • Age limit: All ages

4-H will be forming a group for youth 9-19 years, and interested volunteers, to be part of a research project for Cornell University. We will learn about invasive species in our environment, learning to identify and map them utilizing NY State iMap Invasives. With focus on the Emerald Ash Borer, we will learn about Biosurveillance, utilizing friendly wasps to trap beetles. With our hand held GPS units we will also be learning about Geocaching and locate some hidden treasure in the community. This makes a great science project or community service project for those who love the environment. For more information call 765-3500 or email msr16@cornell.edu
