CSX employee struck and killed by train

The Bethlehem Police Department is investigating a fatal accident involving the driver of an all-terrain vehicle and a train that occurred at the CSX Rail Yard in Selkirk just before midnight Monday, Dec.18. Police responded to the scene after receiving a call that a person had been struck by a train. The operator of the ATV, John A. Williams, 53, of Albany, was a CSX employee. Williams was operating the CSX-owned ATV on an access road, where he was struck by a train while crossing the tracks. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bethlehem Police Department continues to work with CSX Police and CSX safety personnel to determine the cause of the accident. No charges have been filed.
