GUILDERLAND: Starting from scratch

John Potts led Guilderland's offense in the tournament with two goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal against Lake Placid midway through overtime. Dan Dickinson contributed a goal and two assists, and Greg Warnken added a goal and an assist in the two games.

Guilderland has another tough challenge ahead of it this weekend when it travels to the Clinton Tournament. After that, the Dutchmen compete solely against CDHSHL teams, beginning next Wednesday against LaSalle.

DeRubertis said he is hopeful his team will take the lessons learned from its tough non-league schedule and apply them to the rest of the season.

"I think the Section can be very competitive. I think that both Division I (where Guilderland is) and Division II are up for grabs," he said. "I think anyone of us can make a run.""
