The brothers laugh at the irony of staging a haunted sEance in The Sanctuary's intimate Parlor Room, and are eager to pull off their dark illusionary masterpiece in a place known for promoting the lighter side of spiritualism.
Their performance is a combination of illusion, acting and spiritual connection for a haunting, half-hour experience.
"It's an interesting setting, and there will be lots of interaction," said Borden.
Both Borden and brother have been performers with the Young Actors Guild, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute-sponsored children's theater organization in Troy.
Ratigan is confident her boys will pull the sEance off without a hitch; their only worry is interference by a real ghost.
"There will be the illusion of people in the room, and they will touch some people," said Ratigan.
"If you're lucky," Borden quipped. He guarantees manifestations in various forms, including objects moving unexplainably and the presence of moving lights.
