But perhaps the main reason why I've stopped forming allegiances with teams is because it's a lot more fun just to sit back and watch a season develop and follow the storylines. Right now, I'm most curious to see if anyone will knock the Buffalo Sabres out of the NHL playoffs before they get to the Stanley Cup finals and keep the curse of the Presidents Cup (the trophy awarded to the top overall regular season team) alive. I'm also keeping an eye on the Dallas-Phoenix rivalry in the NBA, which promises to have some of the most exciting games should the two teams meet in the Western Conference playoffs. Am I fan of any particular teams in those leagues? No. But I'm still intrigued by what's going on in the NBA and the NHL.
I guess I'd rather follow a good story than a particular team."
