September in Schenectady features events galore

The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are available at the Historic Society on Washington Avenue.

Proctor's Theater is planning a Grand Re-Opening Open House for the week of Sept. 24. On Sunday, Sept. 30, visitors can take self-guided tours of all three theaters including the new GE Theater and watch backstage

demonstrations, organ demonstrations and two new iWERKS movies. The event starts at 1 p.m.

Experience and Creative Design on Union Street is also planning an open house for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8 and 9.

Paintings and sculptures from artists Audrey Romano, Nadia Spiak Rymanowski, Nancy J. Sylvester-Hunt, and Lorraine Hall will be available along with Experience's usual display. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Schenectady County Library will have a used book sale Saturday, Sept. 29, and Sunday, Sept. 30. The sale will include hardcovers, paperbacks, children's books, records and CDs. Sunday will be a $2 bag sale. The event goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
