Delmar walk to benefit pancreatic cancer research

The 2007 Community Walk for Pancreatic Cancer is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Elm Avenue Town Park in Delmar. This year's goal is to raise $6,000.

'This is our seed year to make this a big event," said Shari Piper, who said the more people who participate, the more money is raised and the quicker a cure will be found.

"It worries me," said Shari Piper, who expressed concerned that her husband may one day end up with the same illness his brother died from.

"I would like to have my husband live to a ripe old age," she said.
