"Realistically, our expectations aren't on wins and all that stuff. The real goal is where this team goes and how much it improves," said Cacckello.

Fortunately for Guilderland, it isn't the only Suburban Council team facing wholesale changes this season. Several teams are replacing significant portions of their starting lineups. In Colonie's case, it's replacing nine seniors and breaking in a new varsity coach.

"It's the most inexperienced league we've had since I've been here," said Cacckello. "Outside of Bethlehem and Shenendehowa, it's the least experienced the league has been. So, other teams are going to be going through what we're going through right now."

The Lady Dutch began their Suburban Council season Tuesday when they hosted Ballston Spa. They meet Mohonasen Friday before traveling to Colonie next Tuesday.""
