Tenenboym " in his first season with the Mohawks after leaving junior hockey " scored his second short-handed goal with 1:32 left in the second period. He intercepted a cross-ice pass at the blue line, skated in on Bulmer and put another shot between Bulmer's legs.
"He's a help for us," said Templeton. "He has some good skill, great speed and pretty decent hands, and he showed that tonight with the two goals he had. He gives us an added spark that we didn't have and we didn't expect to have until the end of the summer, when we found out he was going to come back and play."
Saratoga ended N/S goaltender Scott Hartz's bid for a shutout with 1:01 left in the third period. After pulling Bulmer for an extra skater, Garvey Dooley redirected Andrew Williams' blast from the blue line to get the Blue Streaks on the scoreboard.
"It was important (to get the goal) and see that energy and that excitement when we do something like that, but we need to see that energy and excitement throughout the entire game," said McGuiggan. "Pulling the goalie or setting up a play seems to get the guys hyped up, but they should be like that all the time."
Hartz finished with 16 saves for the Mohawks, who travel to Plattsburgh Friday.""
