RCS seeks board of education member

The RCS Board of Education is seeking interested community residents to apply to fill the board seat vacated by Dick Brooks.

Anyone interested in filling the post should contact the RCS Business Office at 756-5200, ext. 6000 or stop by the 26 Thatcher St. office in Selkirk to pick up an application.

Applications to be appointed to fill the position are due by Feb. 26.

If the board does appoint a successor to Brooks, that person will have to seek election May 15 to remain in the post.

To be eligible for the position, a candidate must be 18 years old and a resident of the district.

Brooks' resignation from the post became effective Monday. He resigned citing a scheduling conflict with his duties as a trustee at Columbia-Greene Community College.
