"The architects have also been directed to look at these buildings, period. It is not economically feasible for us to put more money into those buildings. They need to come back and guide us," said Jarvis. "This is merely a proposed schedule. There are many variables that can pop up."

The proposed timeline calls for several presentations to the board throughout the 2007-08 school year. Board members will be asked to give their approval throughout the design process and ultimately seek a public referendum, tentatively scheduled, in October 2008.

"We are making some presumptions coming in," said Langer. "We assume there will be a new school on the Milton Terrace-Wood Road site. If it ends up on a new site, then that changes things." ""
