Romano did an admirable job mouthing the words, and the contestants worked the crowd for audience participation. A couple of singers were so nervous, they forgot the words.
"So far these performances have been mediocre at best," taunted Cody. "These are high stakes: a chance to meet the star."
In the end, Schenectady resident Mattoon wowed the crowd with her nearly professional rendering of "Your Body is a Wonderland."
"I bought 35 raffle tickets, and I have to say, I've never won anything in my life," Mattoon gushed. "I am in complete shock. Thank goodness I remembered the words."
Cody gave a "shout out" to Mayor Romano over the airwaves thanking him for rockin' sense of humor.
"He donated his time on a weekend to come out help out," said Cody. "Not a lot of guys would do that."
Romano said he was going back to the village to borrow a John Mayer CD.
