Meany tied the game 4:18 into the third period when he stuffed home a rebound, but that was the last good scoring chance North Rockland had in regulation. Bethlehem dominated the remainder of the period, but couldn't get anything by junior goaltender Alex Nestle until overtime.
Hughes used three goaltenders in the championship game. T.J. Caswell started and made two saves before giving way to John Remmel, who stopped four shots. Alex Cooper played from the middle of the second period through overtime and had 12 saves.
Bethlehem opened the tournament with a 6-0 victory over Newburgh Free Academy Friday. Weeks tallied twice to lead the offense, while Caswell, Remmel and Cooper combined to stop all eight NFA shots in the shutout. Dolfi, Halek, Jarrod Bugbee and Emmett Dalton also scored goals.
The Eagles will try to keep their momentum going this week as they begin their Capital District High School Hockey League schedule with two road games. They visit Saratoga Wednesday and South Glens Falls Saturday.
"I believe (winning the tournament is) a definite confidence boost for us, but we won't look back. We're looking ahead game by game," said Hughes.""
