$3M Lotto winner all smiles on Black Friday

The number of passing shoppers on Friday who took a spin on the state lottery wheel at the check presentation, was a good sign interest in the lottery remains strong.

Grant said he will continue to purchase scratch-off tickets. The day after hitting the grand prize on Royal Riches he won another $50 on a scratch off.

The Grants will receive their $3 million prize in annual payments of $150,000 over the next 20 years.

The family's win makes 2007 the best year ever for Albany County lottery players, said Lottery officials. To date, $9 million has been awarded to top prize winners in the county, as well as an additional $51 million in lesser prizes ranging from $1 to $999,999.
