DELMAR: School project funding up for vote

'This is a straightforward vote from a financial standpoint, and I see no reason to vote 'no' on this one," O' Shea said.

Other areas in the district the EXCEL money will be used for include replacing terrazzo stair treads at the high school and replacing asbestos tile flooring districtwide. The district is also expected to replace the roof at Clarksville school, renovate restrooms at the middle school and upgrade the pool at the middle school.

"The project is good for the district and good for the taxpayers," said Loomis.

One reason for an October vote is so bids can go out this winter and work can begin in the spring of 2008.""
