Water source debated: Saratoga Lake option considered

Committee member Barbara Tryapluk said the city could not afford to not identify a source in case of periods of extreme drought or a steady increase in usage.

Vice Chair of the Comprehensive Planning Board Nancy Goldberg said the recommendation wasn't omitted out of malice and said its absence did not mean that the board did not endorse the Saratoga Lake water supply.

Goldberg said she has always supported getting permits for the lake but said the committee shouldn't hamstring the city's legislative bodies by recommending one option over another.

"But if that is the public's will, that's fine with me," she added.
