Pilates is also accessible. Lynch says that her beginner classes are suitable for ages 7 to 70 and will introduce Pilates in a safe, nonthreatening manner.
Pilates isn't the only discipline being offered at the new business. Two other instructors will be giving classes in yoga and tai chi, a slow-motion martial arts technique.
Lynch says her Malta studio will be filling a need for the area.
"There are some studios in Saratoga and one in Clifton Park, but really nothing in between," she said. "With the growth of Malta, as more people are moving into the area, I think the town will be offering more things like Pilates centers."
Classes have already started at Malta Pilates Center, but beginner courses will be starting come the week of Sept. 8. The introductory course is an eight-week program that meets once a week at a cost of $96. Intermediate Pilates and yoga students can purchase a 10-class package for $120 and show up for any class. Beginners Tai Chi classes will be starting the week of Saturday, Oct. 4, at a cost of $48.
