Albany County Airport Authority passes $48.3M budget

But Myers said this year's budget reflects no cuts from what the committee had originally projected, despite the challenge this year of creating a budget in somewhat financially unstable economic times.

"The nation's continued economic instability, higher air fares and increased operating costs required a thorough review of our revenues and expenditures to ensure the financial wellbeing of the airport" said David E. Langdon, chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority in a released statement. "We have refined our initial budget estimates and identified the necessary steps that will maintain our high level of service to our airlines and the traveling public."

In addition to the adoption of the budget, the Airport Authority introduced several new projects it plans to work on in 2009, one of which is HondaJet " a new sales and service center located in the airport. The Airport Authority also plans to introduce up to six new concession stands in the airport including Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Silks, a Saratoga-themed restaurant.""
