Jim Caro, owner of the Furniture Theater Store and the Malta Drive-In, agreed.
"I not only appreciate all the work performed by the volunteer firefighters every day, I applaud the fire company on this major accomplishment and extend my best wishes on their anniversary," said Caro. "I estimate that I save approximately $500 on my fire insurance, plus an additional $500 per year on my fire taxes because of their high standing."
The fire company is celebrating its 60th anniversary this February with a banquet to thank all of the members and their families for their continued dedication and community support. ""
