Wilcox leaves Clifton Park Water Authority

Bob Wilcox, counsel for the Clifton Park Water Authority resigned Thursday, Jan. 17, under pressure from the water authority to choose between a position with the Clifton Park Republican Committee and the water authority, according to a CPWA official.

We at the board thought it was a major conflict of interest, said Helmut Gerstenberger, chairman of the CPWA. "We asked him to make a decision."

Wilcox served as the water authority's counsel for more than 10 years.

Although his specific salary was not available, Gerstenberger said it was "significant," and that the water authority board would be evaluating the costs and need of future counsel.

Wilcox did not return calls for comment.
