Farmingdale ends Guilderland's playoff run

It took just two minutes in the second half for the Dalers to build the margin to 8-3, and over the first 15 minutes of the half, they went on another sustained run " a 6-1 spurt broken up only by Daley's second goal of the afternoon.

Showing a strong spirit, Guilderland saved its best offensive work for the homestretch, outscoring Farmingdale 6-4 in the game's last 10 minutes. Abbey Fashouer set the pace, scoring all of her three goals during this period to match Tetreault's team-high game total.

Fashouer was named to the All-Tournament team, while defender Lauren Cagino got the Good Sport Award. Daley and Teterault earned the Brine Choice Awards for their efforts.

Guilderland may have just begun making state final four appearances. Cagino and Fashouer were the team's lone senior starters. Everyone else should be back for 2009 " proud of what they accomplished, but hungry to do more.

"It (this season) meant a lot to the team, and to the community," said Chatnik. "This experience will do us good. We should have our opportunities again, and we should be back.""
