Mohonasen budget passes

Another term

The team ticket of incumbents Joe Salamone and Nancy del Prado were resoundingly elected by voters to continue to serve the Mohonasen School Board for three more years.

Salamone led all vote getters with 33 percent of the vote, while del Prado garnered 32 percent of the vote in the at-large election.

Salamone and del Prado defeated Tom Flood, who received 22 percent of votes, and Mark Thornhill, who received 13 percent of votes.

Salamone and del Prado both said they look forward to serving another term and seeing various facilities projects through to completion.

Del Prado, who works for the state health department, will serve a seventh term.

Salamone, a junior at University at Albany, is currently the youngest school board member in the state. He will serve for a second term.

"Nancy and I share the same vision for the future of Mohonasen," said Salamone.

The two shared campaign signs and encouraged residents to vote them into office as a team.

"We're a team of youth and experience," said del Prado.""
