Tonko wins 21st, Amedore takes 105th

Paul Tonko, D-Amsterdam, has defeated Republican challenger Jim Buhrmaster, in the 21st Congressional district, 149,377 votes to 89,502. Phil Steck, who challenged Tonko in the Democratic primary election, garnered 7,214 votes on the Independence Party line.

In the 105th Assembly district, Republican George Amedore, defeated Democratic challenger Mark Blanchfield by a margin of 10,640 votes. Unofficial results show 27,326 votes for Amedore, versus 16,686 for Blanchfield.
