Erin Kelly has stepped up in Page's place and has played well in goal for Guilderland. She stopped 14 shots in the 4-1 victory over Mohonasen and had nine saves against Shaker.
Other young players have stepped up for the Lady Dutch. Michaela Maybee is second on the team in scoring with seven goals, and Marissa Cubillos is third with two goals and three assists. Kara Lizzotte, Jacquie Brassard, Audra Kowalczyk and Alli DeRizzo have also reached the scoring column.
"We've had some nice young kids come in and create some nice (scoring) opportunities for us," said Newton.
Danielle Tetreault is still Guilderland's go-to player, though. The senior has 11 goals and five assists in her team's 14 league games, including a goal and an assist against Shaker last Friday.
Tetreault and her Guilderland teammates will be tested in the final week of the regular season. After visiting Columbia Wednesday, the Lady Dutch host Bethlehem Friday.
"I'm looking forward to (the Bethlehem game)," said Newton. "We played them tough the first time.""
