Shenendehowa, Burnt Hills cross country teams take it easy

Shen's varsity girls team ran well without Predmore, who set a freshman course record time of 8:31.57. The Plainsmen placed second behind Queensbury with 58 points. Queensbury swept the top four places as it took the girls team title with 26 points.

Jordan Westcott led Shen with a sixth-place finish in a time of 19:25.79. Patty Massa placed 10th in a time of 19:50.19, followed by Danika Simonson in 12th (19:59.30), Meredith Peabody in 13th (20:00.94) and Stefanie Fresenius in 17th (20:19.76).

BH-BL swept the large school division team titles at the Guilderland Invitational. Despite not running its top five runners, the girls team claimed first place with 55 points, well ahead of runner-up Guilderland, while the boys team took the top four individual places to finish first with 22 points.

Scott Maughan led the BH-BL boys pack with a winning time of 14:10.97. Otis Ubriaco was second with a time of 14:11.32, Kent Harlow placed third in a time of 14:32.43 and Sean Pezzulo finished fourth with a time of 14:39.83. Chance Wilk rounded out the Spartans' top five with a 12th-place time of 15:17.52.

Riley Wilk led the girls team with a sixth-place finish in a time of 17:48.81. Lizzy Olsen followed in 10th place with a time of 18:01.99, and Carolyn Herkenham finished 14th with a time of 18:33.96.

Ballston Spa placed third in the girls team standings and fifth in the boys team standings at Guilderland. Becky Martin led the Ballston Spa girls team with a seventh-place finish in a time of 17:58.56, while Max Groves' ninth-place performance (15:01.24) paced the boys team.""
