Colonie man pleads guilty to gun posession in Albany court

Ameek Davis, 24, of Colonie, plead guilty to one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony, on Monday, Jan. 5.

According to District Attorney David Soares' office, Davis, in accordance with his plea bargain, will receive nine years in prison after his Monday, Feb. 23 sentencing.

Davis' arrest was made on Sunday, June 28 at 1:04 p.m. when Albany police responded to a call about a man with a gun. The caller gave a description of a man who had shot off a .22 caliber revolver on Dana Avenue, in Albany, from his vehicle, a white Mustang.

Police later caught up with Davis on Sheridan Boulevard, and said he was also in possession of seven grams of crack cocaine.
