SPAC, dance museum end year in black

SPAC rents out use of its venue for high school and college graduations, but must leave room in its schedule for highly attended rock concerts like those from Live Nation, which bring in profit.

"There are some opportunities," said White. "But it's very difficult to do that during the summer and have the dates that are necessary for our programming, too."

Many summer dates are already set, including the Freihofer's Jazz Festival (June 27 and 28) and the NYC Ballet's residency (July 7 to 18). SPAC's extended season will run from May 23 to June 11. A wine and food festival will return in September.

The venue will continue offering programs like student discounts and hosting free kids on the lawn.

Theme nights like "American Girl Night" will also be scheduled, said White.""
