"Give me the tools I need, not the tools I don't need," Casey said.
He said he hopes under his leadership, students in the district will continue to be given the right tools for their lives after they graduate from the South Colonie Central School District.
"I look forward to working with each and every one of you," he told the board members Tuesday. "If I make a procedural error, I'm sure someone will tell me that I've done wrong."
The 2009-2010 school year will be Motto's fourth year on the board and his first year as vice president. "I'm looking forward to working with the board," he said. "I'd like to thank Mr. Ryan for his many years on the board as our president."
Following the organizational meeting, the district held its first school board meeting with Casey as acting president and Motto as vice president after Casey's two grandsons, Casey and Luke Tarbay, helped lead the board in the pledge of allegiance.""
