Guilderland girls down Lakeland-Panas in regional final

The Guilderland girls lacrosse team is heading back to SUNY Cortland for the state tournament.

The Lady Dutch (22-0) had little trouble in the Class A regionals, downing Section IX champion Kingston 17-10 last Wednesday and defeating Section I champ Lakeland-Panas 16-6 last Saturday.

The final score of last Wednesday's regional semifinal at Kingston wasn't as close as the seven-goal margin of victory indicated. Gulderland jumped out to a 14-4 halftime lead before cruising to the win.

Jen Madsen, Danielle Tetreault and Courtney Davis all had hat tricks for the Lady Dutch. Madsen also dished out four assists, and Tetreault added three assists.

Davis was at it again in last Saturday's 16-6 win against Lakeland-Panas. She scored five goals to lead a balanced Guilderland attack.

Amanda Best contributed three goals for the Lady Dutch, who play in Friday's state semifinals at SUNY Cortland."
