Saratoga's Amanda Borroughs won the girls 400-meter intermediate hurdles race with a time of 1:05.00.
There were some surprises on the boys' side, as Bethlehem's Sam Smith and Jake Platel each had to settle for second place in their specialties. Smith and Northport's Drake Jackson each cleared 6 feet, 2 inches in the high jump, but Jackson did so in fewer attempts to win the first-place trophy. Platel cleared 14 feet in the pole vault, but Queensbury's Nick Girardi cleared 14 feet, 6 inches to win the event.
Shen's Evan Palmer and Ballston Spa's 3,200-meter relay team won titles at the Eddy Meet. Palmer had a throw of 52 feet, 9.75 inches to win the shot put, while Ballston Spa's team of Devin Bennett, Adam Custer, Ryan Grandeau and Justin Lynch finished first in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 8:11.20.
Albany edged Uniondale for first place in the boys team standings 36-35. Shen was third with 33 points.""
