Albany County appeals for used cell phone donations

"What really keeps the program is the community," she said.

The county has run out of phones for now, and there is a back list of about 15 names Roney said.

"The people are so happy once they learn how to use it," she said.

She said it would be great those who receive phones as presents during the holidays donate their old ones, to help stimulate the program.

Joyce County Office Building, 112 State St. in Albany, the Albany County Judicial Center, 6 Lodge St., Albany, the Albany County STOP-DWI Office at 75 Remsen St. in Cohoes and the Albany County 911 Communication Center Route 85A in Voorheesville,
