Scotia-Glenville (6-5-3, 7-5-4) received the No. 2 seed in the northern half of the Class A bracket after finishing fifth in the Foothills Council standings. The Tartans host the winner of Thursday's opening round game between Bishop Gibbons (No. 6 north) and Mohonasen (No. 3 south) Saturday at 2 p.m.
Mohonasen (5-10-1) could be one of the hottest teams entering the Class A playoffs. The defending Sectional champions won their last three Suburban Council games by outscoring Averill Park, Colonie and Columbia by a combined total of 9-2.
Schenectady Christian (10-3-1, 10-4-1) received the No. 3 seed in Class CC and a quarterfinal match-up with Western Athletic Conference rival Schoharie Thursday at Scotia's Maalwyck Park. The Falcons split their two games with the Indians during the regular season, with each team winning on its home field.
Niskayuna (7-9) received the Suburban Council's No. 7 seed for the Class AA Sectionals and a first-round home game. The Silver Warriors host Colonie (No. 8 Suburban Council) Thursday at 3 p.m., with the winner visiting No. 1 seed Shenendehowa Monday in Clifton Park.""
