The Shenendehowa boys soccer team doesn't have to take the field until Monday.
The Plainsmen (14-1-1) received the No. 1 ssed out of the Suburban Council for the Section II, Class AA playoffs after registering the best record in the league this season.
Shen also received a first round bye. The Plainsmen host the winner of Thursday's opening-round game between Colonie and Niskayuna in Monday's quarterfinals.
Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa have to play first-round games in order to get to the semifinals. Saratoga (10-5-1) hosts LaSalle Thursday, while Ballston Spa (11-5) travels to Queensbury. The winners of both Thursday games meet Monday at the home of the higher seed.
In Class A action, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake gained the No. 4 seed from the south half of the bracket after posting a 4-10-2 regular season record. The Spartans host Gloversville Thursday in a first-round game, with the winner traveling to South Glens Falls Saturday night for a quarterfinal contest. South Glens Falls is the No. 1 seed from the north bracket."
