The club leaders are no strangers to seeking outside grants. A state grant received by the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center has allowed the club to meet more often with educators from that location, who teach kids about everything from wildlife to watersheds.
The club has also put up birdfeeders on the Clarksville grounds, and monitors the feeding habits of avian wildlife to report to a Cornell University study.
The grant stipulates the money must be used by the end of the school year. Bush said she's anticipating the arrival of the funds soon, and will make a presentation to the Community Liaison Panel once the composting operation is underway.
