Local man's novel hits shelves

Although "Stash" isn't his first novel, it is the first one to be released. In the publishing world, getting your work to readers can be as difficult as writing it. The 365-page book took about two years to write, but it took an additional year to get it to shelves.

"I've always kind of written what I wanted," he said. "With 'Stash,' I maybe wrote a little more with an audience in mind ... and I got a lot of interest when I started sending it around."

He doesn't think that has cheapened the experience or his vision, though, which is always a danger when an author writes to the marketplace and not his audience.

"I think I fall somewhere in between, where I want to write what I want to write, but I also have an eye to the audience," Klein said.

You can read more about "Stash," including the first chapter of the book, by visiting www.bydavidklein.com. The book is available as an eBook, from online retailers like Amazon.com and at brick-and-mortar stores. The paperback's list price is $14.99.""
