BHS students stage 'Merchant'

"Thankfully I have a cast and crew who are smart and honest enough to create 'Merchant of Venice' on stage, and teacher support from the art director and lighting designer to assist in letting student talents shine on sage. If there's one thing more than falling in love Bethlehem students understand, it's the hate that hides in people," he said.

The cast and crew has been rehearsing relentlessly in past weeks in preparation of staging the play. In November, they had to opportunity to travel to New York to see Al Pacino in a production of the play. That trip was supported in part by the Bethlehem Shakespeare Support Group.

The run of "Merchant of Venice" starts on Friday, Dec. 10, and will be performed at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays until Dec. 18. There will be 1 p.m. shows on Saturday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 17, and 2 p.m. showings on Sunday, Dec. 12 and 19. All shows are in the high school auditorium.

Tickets may be reserved online at www.theatrewithoutanet.org or by calling 439-2991. Past performances have been known to sell out.""
