Public comment sought on transmission line

The New York State Public Service Commission is holding two public information forums and public statement hearings on Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation's planned construction of a new 115-kilovolt electric transmission line from Spier Falls in Saratoga County to Rotterdam in Schenectady County.

To speak at public hearings, advance appointments and presenting written material are not required. All comments will be included in a verbatim transcript for the record. Disabled persons needing special accommodations can place a collect call to the department's human resource management office at 474-2520.

People who cannot attended the meeting or prefer to not speak publicly can send written comments to Hon. Jaclyn A. Brilling, Secretary, Public Service Commission, Three Empire State Plaza, Albany, New York 12223-1350 or email to secretary@dps.state.ny.us. All comments should refer to \Case 10-T-0080.

The PSC Comment Form can be used too, which is on the homepage of the commission's consumer website . Once on the website click on "Contact Us" and then click on "Comment Form."

Comments may also be made by calling the commission's Opinion Line at (800) 335-2120, which is used to take comments for pending cases.

All comments outside of the two meetings should be made before Sept. 30. Documents related to the case can be found on their website .

The first of the two meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Town of Milton Community Center, 310 North Line Road, Ballston Spa. The second will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the Scotia-Glenville High School, One Tartan Way Scotia.""
