Beverwyck breaks ground on expansion

Helping to cover that cost were two Beverwyck residents, Robert and Beatrice Herman, who have lived at the community since 1997. One of the buildings will be christened "The Herman House" to recognize the contribution. They also donated money to construct a gazebo near the buildings.

The Hermans were recognized at the groundbreaking, but Robert Herman remained humble, saying the building should really be named after Miller.

"It was the vision and the foresight of the Eddy that got us to where we are today," he said.

Beverwyck opened in Slingerlands in 1993 with 85 beds. Since then, the campus has undergone numerous expansion to serve 270 residents in independent and assisted living.""
