"We always leave it open for the village to share in that proposal," she said.
Village of Colonie Deputy Mayor and Trustee Thomas Tobin said the village is considering similar measures, but is waiting on more information.
"There's no plans before us," he said.
Mahan said Colonie's local law limiting the number of registered sex offenders has been successful so far, and the planned moratorium on new hotels and motels is unrelated.

Sara Weist, a representative from Mahan's office, said the Capital District Transportation Authority has plans to make a rapid transit route from Albany to Schenectady with limited stops along Route 5 in Colonie.
