Saratoga Springs wants to know what its residents think are local priorities for the next five years of federal funding.
To assist in reviewing and updating these priorities, the City's Community Development Citizen Advisory Committee has developed a short questionnaire available on the City's Web site, www.saratoga-springs.org, in the Saratoga Springs Public Library and in the Office of Planning and Economic Development in City Hall. For more information, contact the City Office of Planning and Economic Development at 587-3550.
According to information from the city, Saratoga Springs receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant program and these federal dollars are intended to provide increased access to affordable housing and promote a \suitable living environment, as well as to expand economic opportunities within the city.
Over the past decade, the city has received and distributed about $5.2 million to activities that help low-and moderate-income residents, including homelessness prevention, emergency shelters and support services, youth and senior services, small business loans and infrastructure improvements like curbs, sidewalks, lighting and street trees.
