B-Spa wants you to meet the candidates

In preparation for the May 18 vote on school budget and school board members, a Meet The Candidates Night will be held on Thursday, May 6, in the Ballston Spa High School Library at 6 p.m. to give area residents a chance to learn more about the three candidates running for the Board.

Two seats are available on the Board and the top two candidates in the election will serve for a three-year term, commencing in July 2010. The candidates include incumbents Kathleen Jarvis and Daniel Cramer, and challenger Karen Parlapiano.

School district representatives will present budget information and answer questions from interested residents at 6:30 p.m. on May 10 at the Milton Community Center, May 12 at the Malta Community Center and May 13 at the Ballston Town Hall.

Residents may also attend informal "Coffee Conversations" on May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Coffee Planet in Ballston.

Residents may call the district's budget hotline with specific questions for the Assistant Superintendent for Business at 884-7195 ext. 1320. Additional information is also on the district Web site.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 18. District residents vote in either the Malta Town Hall (residents of Malta) or the Ballston Spa High School (residents of Milton, Ballston and Charlton).
