One of the most exciting parts of the trip for Schneider is the handing out of the actual nets to those in need.
"I'm generally excited about it but I am nervous about entering a third world country for the first time," said Schneider.
To prepare for the trip, the mother and son team have begun to spray down clothing with insecticide and take pills that will protect against the onset of malaria. The pills must be taken daily, each day leading up to the trip.
"I think it will be a eye opener for him," said Gina. "It's a completely different world there. It's a culture shock. Life is much more crude and much more harder. Stephen is a very high achiever and is open to new ideas."
