Shenendehowa graduate Ashleigh Barone led a second-half charge that gave the Siena College women's soccer team a 3-2 victory over MAAC foe Loyola (Md.) in Friday's home game.
Barone scored the tying goal 10 minutes into the second half and netted the game winner with 4:32 left in regulation to keep the Saints (11-0-0) perfect in 2010.
Loyola grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first half before Siena got on the board at the 23rd-minute mark. Lindsay Tegas was fouled in the penalty box, and Shaker grad Caitlin Cahalan converted the penalty kick to get the Saints on the scoreboard.
Barone tied the game by toeing the ball by the Loyola goaltender and then burying it into the open net. On the game winner, Barone took a feed from Nicole Daly and shot the ball wide of the goalie and into the net to complete the comeback.
It was only Siena's second victory in the last 23 meetings with Loyola, and it kept the Saints alone in first place in the MAAC standings.
